TW-03 BII - Pictorial Review

First and foremost, I would like to thank ToyWorld for giving me the chance to do advanced review of their TW-03, a big leap for my review blog. Before we start, as always, an introduction is in order.

Let us forget for awhile, about the 'all-mighty' Bumblebee post-2007 era and go back to a simpler time, Generation 1, 1984 era. Bumblebee is one of the first Autobots lineup introduced when the series aired, being a part of the crew that crashed on Earth 4 millions years ago.

Not being the toughest nor the smartest one, doesn't stop Bumblebee from being in the fight for Earth safety. Being one of the most good 'hearted' bot out there, Bumblebee befriended Spike Witwicky and acted as his closest friends and guardian till Spike's adulthood.

Bumblebee survived the reign of Unicron and remained in the Autobots frontliner during Rodimus Prime's time. He however, sustained fatal injuries during the outbreak of the Hate Plague and rebuilt into a new soldier, Goldbug.

Over the years, there's been an extensive version of Bumblebee, from the improved-G1 design to the reboot/new design. There's few design that roughly follows (or intended to follow) the original Bumblebee design such as G1 version (pic above), 2006's Classics Bumblebee and recently the new offering by a 3rd Party Company, Artfeather.

However, just as we went into 2014, Toyworld decided to release their version of Bumblebee, TW-03 BII.

Toyworld TW-T03 Trace - Pictorial Review

Recovering from the heartache of Doubledealer, now is a review of a figure that I've been anxiously waiting for, the next Not-Throttlebot by Toyworld, TW-T03, Trace. It seems than this year has been a good year for Toyworld and I especially love most of their releases. Can't wait to see their next release for Not-Throttlebots, Not-Headmasters and of course, the IDW versions of Not-Megatron and Not-Magnus

The bot that talks more than he should, Chase will strike others as being a motormouth braggart. Still, despite his flaws, Chase able to win the attention of all his comrade with his enthusiasm and flaring charisma. A rather great scout, Chase paid attention to details and the perfection of the mission he carried out. That would include taking things into his own hand which most often than not, led him into trouble

.. Yet he can reach 240 mph top speed..what's your excuse?Pic Credit : Web

Toyworld TW-T02 Aurora - Pictorial Review

I can't believe I missed this guy. Bought him sometime last year but postponed my review due to his color making white background unusable for photo-shoot. Experimented a bit with black background so I think I should give this a try

Searchlight is a member of the The Throttlebots, first appeared during the rescue attempt of Optimus Prime's body in G1's The Return Of Optimus Prime. A somewhat recurring characters, Searchlight and the Throttlebots came and went throughout the Headmasters series

Often mistaken as a lone ranger, Searchlight always find peace in silent and comfort in the night. Also mistaken is his keen senses of his surrounding, portraying him a paranoid loner.

1981's Searchlight transformed into a Ford RS200 rally car.

Toyworld TW-T01 Grindrod - Pictorial Review

Toyworld first made their appearance in December 2011 with a prototype of TW-01 Hegemon, their own take of G1 Megatron. Considered a daring attempt by the fans as G1 Megatron have a unique robot mode that's hard to be engineered. Personally, even Takara's MP05 Megatron failed on that

Skipped him due to the fact that I settled with Classics Megatron but Toyworld pulled this off nicely, especially considering it's their first product. And after that, Toyworld's next offering is the homage of G1 Throttlebots, all six of them (although the last 4 still haven't got any actual pictures yet)

The Throttlebots are more or less a G1 Season 3 - Season 4 version of the minibots, consist of 6 members which are Rollbar, Chase, Searchlight, Goldbug, Freeway and Wide Load

The Throttlebots made their appearance on G1 Season 4 The Return of Optimus Prime Part 1, joining Rodimus Prime's mission of rescueing the body of Optimus Prime, before being infected by the hate plague .And then again during G1 Headmasters series, defending Cybertron from Galvatron's siege

Personally, I think it was in 2009's IDW Spotlight : Metroplex that gave a fresh breath to The Throttlebots with their heroic act defending a secret from the deadly Sixshots. And that turned the fans to the Throttlebots again

Rollbar and Goldbug standing their ground

And for the first of the gang, Toyworld released TW-T01 Grindrod, homaging Throttlebot Rollbar. This might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I'm happy none the less
